Overview of the department
The aim of the department is to provide high-quality education along with training the students with all the new advancements in the field of computers. The department takes the initiative to improve the soft skills, analytical capabilities and verbal communication of the students.
The department adopted learning by doing pedagogy and offers lab oriented curriculum to create a learning environment in which students are more confident and productive as they engage in projects that empower them to take ownership of their education. The department has computer labs in the different areas of computing equipped with the latest software in the respective areas and hardware complementing its implementation.
The guidance and cooperation of the experienced and expert faculty members of the department is one of the attractive features of the department, which encourages the students to stretch their wings so that they can fly higher than their dreams and serve the country.

The department focuses on two main objectives:To groom Computer Professionals who can be directly employed
To make the students competent to pursue higher studies .
The course has been designed keeping in mind the desirable characteristics of a competent Computer Professional. We have identified these characteristics to be the following:
Communication skills – To be achieved through Seminars by students
Ability to work in a team – To be achieved through project work
Logical and numerical ability – To be achieved through Programming
Knowledge of computers, consisting of strong fundamentals of: Programming methodology, Networking, Internet, Operating Systems, Databases, .NET applications, and Web applications

ISR activity of the departments
ISR activity of the departments: “Serving as Scribes for the University /End Semester Examinations” in association with AGAL Foundation
Our students in association with the AGAL foundation serve as scribes for Students with Permanent Disabilities, Chronic Medical Conditions and temporary disabilities. The main focus of this initiative is to ensure that there is no barrier to procuring knowledge and pursuing Education.
As part of the ISR initiative by the department, the activity started in the year 2017-18. The scribes are mainly for the undergraduate, postgraduate and government service examinations.
