Overview of the department
Established in 2002 at Kumararani Meena Muthiah College of Arts & Science, the Department of Corporate Secretaryship is a beacon of excellence affiliated with the University of Madras. Offering a comprehensive undergraduate program, the curriculum spans commerce, management, and specialized expertise in company law and secretarial practice, CSR, and Ethics, etc., Over two decades, the department has produced university ranks, fostering highly competent professionals. Through Convergence, our student association, the department periodically hosts impactful activities, while the annual publication, Corporate Dynamics and Dimensions, and newsletter Corpo Epic showcase the students' insights and activity lists respectively. Embodying the theme "Aspire to Achieve, Aim for Excellence, Act for Success," the department emphasizes holistic development, equipping students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, ensuring they thrive in the ever-evolving corporate landscape.
Eligibility criteria
Prospective candidates must have completed their plus two education in commerce and accountancy.
Scope of the program
The B.Com. Corporate Secretaryship Program is designed to equip graduates with essential knowledge and skills to pursue careers in different managerial levels at organisations, lead to professional courses and make them into professionals and encourage students to become entrepreneurs. This program fosters comprehensive personal development by providing a well-rounded education and exposure to a wealth of knowledge in the areas of secretarial practices, auditing, management, taxation, industrial laws, and corporate governance. Graduates of this program will be well-prepared to excel in competitive exams such as CA, CS, ICMA, and other related courses.

Vishal B. I B. Com (CS) has secured the first prize in the South India level Invitation Karate Open Championship 2022 held in December 2022.
