MIDS Visit: A Journey of Knowledge Beyond the Classroom

The Department of Commerce embarked on an enriching educational visit to the Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS), where students experienced learning beyond the traditional classroom setups.

This insightful trip allowed students to connect classroom theories to real-world applications in key areas such as economic policies, financial development, and trade practices. MIDS provided a unique perspective on how research and policy decisions shape commerce and economic growth on both a local and global scale.

Through interactive sessions and exposure to real-time research, students had the chance to engage with experts and observe the practical aspects of development studies. The visit also enhanced their understanding of policy-making, sustainable growth, and how commerce plays a critical role in nation-building.

Heartfelt thanks to MIDS for hosting our students and giving them an opportunity to witness firsthand the connections between commerce, development, and policy.
