CORPORATE WEEK CELEBRATION

  • Placement training course on employment readiness for all third years since 2013 is successfully conducted which transforms from college to corporate world

PLACEMENT OFFICERS AND HR PROFESSIONALS MEET

  • Kumararani Meena Muthiah College of Arts and Science, Adyar organised a “Placement Officers and HR Professionals Meet” in association with the Andhra Chamber of Commerce on 23rd August 2013. The purpose of the meeting was to connect Recruiters and Placement officers of various colleges through a Placement Forum.
  • The Chief Guest for the day was Mr D.S. BALACHANDRA BABU, Managing Director, Farm Implements (India) Pvt Ltd & President, Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers' Association Who imparted valuable knowledge and insights pertaining to the placement.
  • Mr. R.R. Padmanabhan, Chairman, Skill Development Sub Committee, Andhra Chamber of Commerce inaugurated the Campus to Corporate Finishing School Programme by releasing the module of the programme. The objective of the C2C Programme is to empower the students with tools for improving their personal and professional abilities which can enable them to get into the Corporate World with adequate employability skills.
  • The other delegates who addressed the meeting were Prof. Dr G.Ravindran new Director, University Students Advisory Bureau, University of Madras. Dr. K. Nirmala Prasad Principal of M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women Mr. CA Ravikumar, Chief, Digiterati Finishing School.
  • There was an Open forum which discussed issues like the Role of HR in bridging the gap between the industries and institutes. Importance of internship programmes, role of placement officers in career guidance, opportunities available in IT and non-IT sector.

PARENTS’ INSTITUTE INDUSTRY INTERFACE

  • Kumararani Meena Muthiah College, under the able patronage of Dr Meena Muthiah, Secretary and Correspondent organized an event called "PARENTS` INSTITUTE INDUSTRY INTERFACE” with the theme “Conclave on Curriculum, Career and Capacity Building” on 20th December,2014. This meeting was a first of its kind ventured by an Educational Institution which provided a platform and an opportunity for parents to discuss the institution and the industry under one roof.
  • The Conclave helped the parents to identify life and career-oriented skills required for students and contributed high benefits to all the stakeholders in terms of personal, organizational and national interest. The keynote speaker for the day was Mr.K. Manickam, GM (HR), (Rtd) Southern Region, Indian Oil Corporation and former Chairman, NIPM.

CAREER ALUMNI MENTOR PROGRAM (CAMP)

  • The Placement and Career Guidance Cell had great pleasure in inviting alumni as Delegates for the Career Alumni Mentor Program on 31st January 2015.
  • Career Alumni Mentor Program was a new venture that brought the students together with alumni to gain knowledge on corporate fields and career paths. It helped students to gain knowledge from Alumni’s talk and share their inhibitions through which alumni acted as Mentors. The program aimed to connect students and alumni for the purpose of education, career advice, corporate skills and mentorship.
  • In this context, alumni shared their thoughts on professional ethics, building a career, and finances. Planning, career Prospects, balancing passion with the profession and how to match with industry needs.

TCS — FREE EMPLOYABILITY TRAINING PROGRAM

  • The Placement and Career Guidance Cell of our college has associated with TCS for the Free Employability Training program for the final year SC/ST and Underprivileged students. This Social Initiative of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) aims to improve the employability of SC/ST and underprivileged students of Arts & Sciences.
