About the College

Kumararani Meena Muthiah College of Arts and Science was founded in the year 1996, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Mrs.Meena Muthiah, Kumararani of Chettinad, to inculcate a sense of moral and cultural superiority of our nation in young minds, thereby making them responsible citizens to suit the National and global needs.
Mrs. Meena Muthiah had a profound vision of imparting knowledge, empowerment, and self-reliance through education interwoven with a strong sense of national pride and patriotic values. Her keen foresight was to provide education rooted in values, guiding students towards a life guided by ethical principles.
The college has been a pioneer in establishing an Entrepreneurship Development Cell since 2009, dedicated to offering training, fostering awareness, and conducting workshops to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to become job creators rather than job seekers. The Vocational Training Center also plays a vital role in offering training to all first-year students.
Furthermore, the college houses a range of clubs and Outreach Units, including NSS, NCC, Rotaract Club, Nature Club, Kalam Club, and YRC. These Clubs collectively share a core mission to cultivate attributes like integrity, sociability, discipline, leadership, an inclusive outlook, and the capacity to recognize and tackle community challenges while collaborating on meaningful welfare projects as a team.
